08 Nov What You Don’t Know About Symptoms Could Make You Sick
Do you have any snotty, runny-nosed kids in your house this fall? ’Tis the season, right? We’ve all had sick kids and the truth is we have all been “trained” by society to get rid of those symptoms. (Not the kids!)
But you’re savvy enough already to know that taking cold medicine doesn’t cure your cold — that’s what makes you so Revolutionary & Evolutionary!
What if you understood on a core level that symptoms are the language of cells? The runny nose, fever, and projectile vomiting are signs that a body is adapting, healing, cleaning or messaging that something must change. When you eliminate the symptoms, you cut off the body’s communication.
Would you tell a runny nose to shut up? Of course, not! Imagine: the body is striving to shed all unhealthy cells, but they’re stuck inside. What do you think is going to happen?
Dr. Arno Burnier, the warm-hearted Frenchman in this video, has been my mentor for years — and he has an important message for you about symptom suppression.
I promise, if you invest your next 2 minutes and 34 seconds watching this video, you’ll have a much healthier winter.
The next time a family member has symptoms ask these questions:
What are these symptoms showing me? Is the body expressing them as part of a process of healing itself? Or are they a message that something needs to shift (think food, sleep pattern, stress, or other behavior)?
When you allow the symptoms to speak, you have the opportunity to hear what your body needs.
P.S. For a deep dive into how to accept instead of suppress symptoms, check out my blog post Dr. Dolittle or Dr. Do-Nothing.
